Mauricio Stern

Welcome to my webpage!

I am a Research Economist at Banco de México. I got a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2023.

My primary fields are applied macroeconomics and international economics. My research has focused on the impact of commodity price shocks in a small open economy using time series and structural econometrics.

Before my graduate studies, I worked as a research analyst at CAF Development Bank, collaborating on policy reports and experimental research on tax collection, intergenerational mobility, and labor training programs. Additionally, I worked as an analyst in Econlink consulting, engaging on projects about sectoral tax policies, labor markets, innovation, and natural resource extraction rights.
